Paint made with featured ingredient: Genuine Crested Pigeon dropping

When using glues made from animal skins and bones as an ingredient of tempera, the medium would need to be kept warm on the fire so as not to coagulate. A Spanish recipe written in the mid 1600s suggests adding pigeon droppings to the glue as an alternative method.re used. However recent scientific analysis shows it was wild duck egg with earth pigments, malachite and the mysterious Egyptian blue made from ground glass.
