[Orchid sap, clover ink, ground malachite, ochres, madder root ink, pine ink on traditional gesso on 640gsm archival paper]

Traditional Indigenous artists use the sap from various native epiphytic orchids that grow on the sides of trees and rocks, usually harvested in the dry season. The sap is mashed and sometimes fermented before adding to pigments to be used as a paint. There were plans to test more orchids but Covid travel limits were in place.
