[Kangaroo blood, brandy, clove oil, ochres, eucalyptus gall ink on traditional gesso on 640gsm archival paper]

Like the emu oil, kangaroo blood has been discovered to be a binding medium for paint found on rock walls around Australia. Thought to be used for its symbolism but also because it would have been close to hand, the blood, in the right conditions has a staying power unlike other proteins. A small amount, with gratitude to the animal, was used for this work, for research only.
